In partnership with SIMetrix Technologies, we offer our simulation engine, SIMPLIS, as part of the SIMetrix/SIMPLIS application package. We also offer the Design Verification Module as an add-on to any SIMetrix or SIMetrix/SIMPLIS product. Licensing is managed on a per-seat basis with options for portable (USB key) and network (LAN or WAN) licenses, using the FlexNET licensing system.
SIMetrix/SIMPLIS - All versions of SIMetrix/SIMPLIS include the SIMPLIS simulator as well as the SIMetrix Simulation Environment, consisting of the enhanced SIMetrix SPICE simulator, schematic editor and waveform viewer offering good accuracy, performance, and rapid convergence for a broad range of analog and mixed-signal design applications. SIMPLIS is designed to simulate switching power electronics systems. It combines accuracy and speed in a full-featured design environment, enabling 10-50x faster simulation than SPICE for power supply designs.
SIMetrix/SIMPLIS Pro - Adds multi-core support (up to 4 cores) to the multi-run (e.g. Monte Carlo) capabilities of both the SIMetrix and SIMPLIS simulation engines. Also includes Verilog and basic IC design features for SIMetrix.
SIMetrix/SIMPLIS Elite - Additional multi-core support (up to 16 cores) on top of the features of the Pro version. Also includes advanced IC design features and Real Time Noise analysis for SIMetrix.

Portable licensing is recommended for individual users or users who wish to share licenses on non-networked machines such as notebook computers.
The license agreement for a portable license allows the software to be installed on any number of user's machines but use of the software is protected with a USB dongle. Also, a single user wishing to use SIMetrix or SIMetrix/SIMPLIS on multiple non-networked machines will require this type of license.
Important - Portable licenses only enable SIMetrix/SIMPLIS to be run on the primary display on a local machine. You cannot use SIMetrix/SIMPLIS from a remote terminal using Windows Terminal Services or Remote Desktop. If you wish to use this type of configuration, you must purchase a network license.
Network licensing is recommended if SIMetrix or SIMetrix/SIMPLIS is to be shared by more than one network connected user. The license agreement for network licenses allows the product to be installed on any number of users' machines but access to the software is controlled by a license manager which we supply. The license manager (FLEXnet publisher from Flexera Software) must be installed on a single server machine on your network. The license manager runs all the time and controls how many users can run the program simultaneously. So, when a user starts up SIMetrix or SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, the license manager is interrogated to see if there are available licenses. If there are, the program is allowed to run normally. If there are not - because there are others already using the program - the user will not have access to the full functionality of the product.
LAN (Local Area Network) licenses are intended for use within a limited area typically constrained to a customer's building or office campus.
WAN (Wide Area Network) licenses have no geographic restriction and may be used by users located anywhere in the world.
