One of the most popular features of SIMPLIS is its ability to do AC analysis on the full switching nonlinear time-domain model of a DC-DC converter without requiring the derivation of any average models.

The agreement between SIMPLIS AC analysis and actual hardware measurements is legendary. Because it does not require any average modeling, no information about the performance of the system is ignored during this analysis. If there is a discrepancy between accurate lab measurements and the SIMPLIS model, it will be caused by some critical aspect of the time domain behavior that was initially thought to be unimportant and was left out of the original simulation model. Identifying and properly modeling that critical element often leads to important insights into the behavior of the larger circuit.
